CritiDe

CritiDe as a project aims to raise capacities of participating organisations and their local partners, as well as youth workers; in the fields of critical thinking and activism of young people in democratic processes and development of media literacy skills. This will be achieved through development and delivery of educational trainings for youth workers and development of educational handbooks and workshops. 

As a cherry on the top, educational platform containing developed practical handbooks and online learning course on how to use and adapt materials to specific needs of local communities and work of youth workers/educators/professors;

All partners in the consortium have in common working with young people (both mainstream and with fewer opportunities) on a daily basis, especially on topics of social inclusion, promotion of democracy and EU values, media literacy and development of innovative digital youth work methodologies and materials.

Youth Power Germany e.V. (YP DE)  based in Berlin, is a non-profit, non-governmental organization focused on empowering young individuals, especially migrants facing social and cultural challenges. Our mission centers on celebrating the unique strengths and diversity of youth, promoting unity, and facilitating their integration into society through non-formal education. This approach helps us create meaningful connections and experiences that support personal and communal growth. Our initiatives, supported by a broad network of European partnerships, cover a range of critical areas such as Digital Literacy, Digital Citizenship, Education & Employment, Art, Sustainability, Media Literacy, and Well-being & Inclusion. These programs are designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving, alongside nurturing learning environments and enhancing the skills of educators. Since November 2019, we’ve been a vital part of Berlin’s youth welfare services, focusing on 15-21-year-olds, many from immigrant backgrounds. Our team, consisting of social workers, psychologists, and a diverse group of professionals, offers tailored support, including help with the asylum process and daily challenges. We pride ourselves on being a community that values innovation in education and inclusivity, actively engaging with over 700 participants annually in various educational projects at local, national, and international levels. Our work is aimed at not just educating but also empowering marginalized groups for better employability and societal integration.

Carousel 8 (C8) from Croatia is a non-governmental organization from Zagreb, established in order to provide learning and volunteering opportunities for youngsters with fewer opportunities. The main goals of C8 are promoting volunteerism and active citizenship; promoting non-formal education; promoting awareness of civil society development; inclusion of people in social and cultural life. Specially relevant to this project application, C8 has a rich experience in organizing educational workshops for high-school students in the Zagreb region, where they worked on promotion of active citizenship, volunteering opportunities for youngsters and basics of media literacy. Additionally, they have experience in working with NEET youngsters and first-time voters on navigating the election process and development of their skills on democratic citizenship and the conduct of elections. On the international level, they coordinated and implemented several KA1 (mobility of youth workers) projects about volunteering, volunteer management and mentoring in the international environment. C8 has 4 people regularly engaged as trainers and project coordinators and at least 100 people at international; and 200 people at local level involved as learners on educational projects. 

Snaga Mladih / Youth Power (YP BA) is a NGO from Mostar established in 2013 by a group of young people who were already experienced in civil society sector. The organization has a strong team of seven employed staff and over 30 volunteers and is implementing three long-term programmes at the moment. YP vision is society with positive values, in which young people are contributing to tolerance and interpersonal dialogue, promoting healthy lifestyles, gender equality, non-violence, and actively involved in social life and politics. The main activities of YP BA are: organising workshops, training courses, youth exchange, counseling, peer education, organising conferences and different events. YP BA is working in different programs at local and national level. YP BA is also involved in the BOLD program currently implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina by the US embassy. YP BA staff and experts are responsible for organizing educational trainings and sessions for participants of the BOLD program on the topic of civic education, democracy, human rights, journalism and media literacy and anti-corruption. Specially relevant to this project application is that YP BA have been one of the first organisations who have worked on adapting on-site educational training courses to online courses. Their rich experience in using free platforms as well as paid options for developing the online courses in non-formal education will be beneficial for developing online learning activities within this project, but also to share their experience and practice with other partners, and participants of activities. 

NVO GLAS from Montenegro was recently founded in Podgorica by enthusiastic people that have a vision to improve the entire society through the improvement of skills, and promoting lifelong learning for all. Aware of the fact that young people in Montenegro are highly educated and talented but also afraid to express themselves in Montenegrin, still patriarchal, society where the influence of political parties is strong, NGO GLAS by organising seminars, trainings and other forms of non-formal education, independently or in cooperation with other organizations, wants to enable them to gain knowledge and experience that does not provide formal education. This would provide them to meet similar people for socializing and cooperation, encouraging them to actively participate in decision-making in the areas of: human rights, anti-discrimination, non-violence, intercultural and interreligious dialogue, youth policies and strategies for youth, healthy lifestyles and initiatives. of interest to youth, peace and peace policies. Activities of NGO GLAS would encourage young people to research, collect and analyse data, travel and learn about new cultures as well as develop their entrepreneurial ideas. Specially relevant to this project application, NGO GLAS has conducted needs analysis among youngsters in their local community on “Attitude of young people towards democracy as a value system and the current situation”. Their staff through implementation of this study already managed to engage a group of youth workers interested to actively participate in the project activities and to multiply and implement new competences and knowledge directly in local communities they are working in.

The Ministry of Public Administration of Montenegro is a key government body responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing policies and activities in the field of public administration. Its role encompasses enhancing the efficiency, transparency, and accountability of public administration, as well as supporting the development of civil society and democracy in the country. The Ministry of Public Administration of Montenegro co-financed activities carried out by the NGO GLAS within the framework of the EU project “Critical thinking and participation as a foundation of democracy in Europe”. The project was co-financed from funds allocated by the Budget Law of Montenegro for the year 2022, focusing on Program: 11 053 – Improvement and development of public administration, Sub-program: 11 053 004 – Professional and operational activities of the Ministry of Public Administration, Activity: 11 053 004 001 – Management and administration of the Ministry of Public Administration, from budget position: 431-4 Transfers to non-governmental organizations.
